Following the untimely death of William L. Young, MD, in 2013, the Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care agreed to establish an eponymous research award to honor his career and life, particularly his outstanding accomplishments as a clinical and basic-research neuroscientist. Dr. Young was a longstanding SNACC member, President of the Society from 1996-1997 and a colleague and friend of many of its members. He was appropriately viewed as one of the most productive researchers, influential mentors and memorable personalities in neuroanesthesiology's history. The William L. Young Research Award is given every year and offers support to academic physicians and/or scientists who conduct either clinical or laboratory-based research in neuroanesthesiology or neurologic critical care.
As one of the initiatives to continue to effectively support this award, a fundraiser dinner will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Palio d'Asti Restaurant (www.paliodasti.com), San Pietro Room, 640 Sacramento Street, San Francisco, California 94111 at 7:30 pm.
We invite all SNACC members, friends and colleagues of Dr. Young to attend this dinner and support the young investigators who are benefited by the William L. Young Neuroscience Research Award.
The fee for attending is $175 per person (no limit on ticket purchase, although seating is limited).
For federal income tax purposes, you can deduct as a charitable contribution the price of this ticket less its fair market value. We estimate the fair market value of this ticket to be $90, so your charitable contribution is $85. SNACC is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
You may purchase tickets to attend as part of your registration for the SNACC 46th Annual Meeting.
